About the PTA
Welcome to Balgowan School PTA!
What is the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)?
Balgowan School PTA is a separate registered charity established to advance the education of pupils in Balgowan in particular by:
- developing effective relationships between the staff parents and others associated with the school;
- engaging in activities or providing facilities’ or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
Parents, guardians and carers of pupils currently attending Balgowan and all staff are automatically members of the PTA. These members elect a committee each year to oversee the day to day running of the PTA and to coordinate its activities.
What do we do?
Our main aim is to raise valuable funds for the school by organising events that not only achieve those goals but are also great fun for all! Our two biggest events are the summer fair and Christmas fair but there are also quiz nights, discos and sale days.
Balgowan PTA Big Cartel
Tickets for the majority of Balgowan PTA events are available to buy through the PTA’s online shop http://balgowanpta.bigcartel.com This is the preferred method of payment, however we can also accept cheques payable to ‘Balgowan PTA’. Please post any cheques to the PTA post boxes located in the junior and infants playground.
Where does the money raised go?
All funds raised go towards improving the educational experience of the Balgowan pupils. To date, the PTA has provided the Trim Trail, interactive whiteboards in every class, iPad minis to help with pupil development, floodlights for after school outdoor activities, swimming lessons, educational trips, coaches to concerts at the o2 and fun celebrations.
We publish a quarterly newsletter to update all members on key activities and funding requests.
How can you help?
There are many ways to get involved with the PTA – you can do as little or as much as you like. Ideas for new events or projects to support the school are always welcome.
The PTA also has a way you can donate a small regular amount through joining our lottery.
You can get in touch for further information by emailing email@example.com or our chair, Emma Winter, is in the KS1 playground most days if you would like to chat in person.
