I have been a Parent Governor at Balgowan since February 2011. I volunteered to become a parent Governor because I wanted to be more proactive and involved in the running of the school. I strongly believe that excellent education is a right and should be accessible to all.
My background is a technical and creative one. I am a web and print designer working with IT and with a long background in advertising, PR and design. I created the school’s website to help open up communication between the school and parents. I have a keen interest in music, creativity and expression for children as an aid to learning and a way to motivate and involve.
I have two girls at Balgowan in years 4 and 6, and have lived in Beckenham for 8 years. I grew up in Australia, although I have lived in the UK for over 15 years now. I was involved with Girl Guiding Association for many years in Australia, and am currently a Brownie Leader in Beckenham.
