I decided to become a community governor in 2012 primarily in order to help Balgowan School obtain value for money and quality of design in the conservation and improvements to their buildings and premises.
I am also passionate about promoting high standards of educational achievement at the school because I believe that all children have the right to the best possible education.
I run an architectural practice in Beckenham that I started in 2007, which employs three architects and one administrator. Much of the work we do involves adapting and improving existing hospital buildings of a similar age to Balgowan School. Prior to 2007 I worked for 12 years in three different architectural practices in London mainly on the design and construction of healthcare buildings and city centre regeneration projects.
My eldest son is currently in Year 1 at Balgowan and his younger brother goes to pre-school at St James’s.
