I became a parent governor in spring 2015. My daughter Evie was in her second term at the school and I wanted to take an active part in the school community and help Balgowan achieve its high ambitions. I hope my son will join the school in 2017 so I have a long term commitment to the school’s success.
I have worked in children’s digital media for several years, with clients such as the BBC, Jamie Oliver and ITV. In 2012 I led a think tank programme that looked at how digital technologies can help to promote learning both in and out of school. I have been particularly involved with research on how children develop their own digital creativity and programming skills.
I hope that experience can be helpful to the school as the new computing curriculum comes into effect and as the speed of technological change continues to accelerate over the coming years.
