Autumn Term 2016 Football News

Bryony scored a hat trick in the girls’ 8-1 league win over Southborough Primary School. Mr Coulson has given her a target of 15 goals this season!

Great Start for the Balgowan Girls’ Football Team

The autumn league challenge has started for the girls and they had a resounding 8-1 victory against Southborough Primary School.  A hat trick from Bryony, two from Eleanor, and a goal each by Emily and Florence (the other an own goal) saw the team start their campaign with a win.  Mr Coulson was very impressed with team’s determination and attacking qualities.

The girls took their form into the district preliminary knockouts. After a slow start, they beat Alexandra Junior School 1-0 with a low free kick from Zara.  The momentum carried on through the tournament with a 2-0 win over Valley Primary School.  Emily’s skills proved too much for the Valley defence.  After two more draws and conceding no goals, the team qualified for the District finals, which will be played on the 21st of October.
