Balgowan Centenary Celebrations 2015
To mark the centenary the Balgowan School Buildings there will be a reunion evening for former adult pupils and staff on 9th July 2015. It would be fantastic if former pupils could send us their memories of their time at Balgowan, so they can be used on the school website and for a book of memories.
The Balgowan Road building was completed as a school in 1915, but was used as a hospital during the First World War. Three schools opened on the site in 1920, an infant school and two senior schools. Balgowan Primary School was established in the 1958/9 academic year following the departure of the senior girls who formed Cator Park Girls School, now Harris Academy Bromley.
Tickets for the reunion evening cost £10, which includes a buffet, a glass of wine, a tour of the school and musical entertainment. Former adult pupils or staff may send a cheque made payable to “Balgowan Primary School” along with a self-stamped addressed envelope for the return of the ticket(s) to the school office.
Please email your memories to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school on 020 8658 6374.
