Year 6 pupils at Balgowan have been decorating a giraffe on behalf of Bromley Rotary Club as part of their Giraffe Trail taking place at the intu Shopping Centre in Bromley. The Year 6 children have chosen a road safety theme to help promote awareness of travelling safely around our local area and beyond. The Year 6 Junior Travel Ambassadors have been helping with the project and are linking it to their Silver Award.
Bromley Rotary Club will have a stall in the intu Shopping Centre during the giraffe trail period from Saturday 22nd October to Sunday 30th October. They will be selling small giraffes (28cm) and very small giraffes (17cm) and mini paint sets. There will also be a giraffe trail competition – for a £1 donation to Bromley Rotary Club competition entrants will receive a form which sets out the giraffe sponsors and their locations. Entrants will have to complete the giraffe names by seeking out the giraffes in and around central Bromley. Completed forms then need to be posted in the Giraffe Trail Competition box and there will be prizes for the winners! The Mayor of Bromley will be arriving at 10.30am to open the event officially and giraffes will go to their sponsors “home” at 1.30pm. For more information, visit the website – www.giraffetrail.co.uk
