Infants Parent Forum: Phonics, Early Reading and Maths

A well-attended and successful parent forum was hosted in December. It was a great opportunity to introduce our exciting new phonics and early reading scheme: Little Wandle!
Firstly, Jemma Bicknell and Jess Owen lead on how our approach to teaching phonics and early reading has changed with our new scheme. They shared the rationale and demonstrated how lessons are structured as well as how to help children at home.
Next, Alan Slater lead a maths-based session with an emphasis on attitude towards maths, mathematical language and suggestions about how to help at home.
