On the 6th May 2023, King Charles III was crowned our new monarch. At Balgowan, we celebrated this special occasion with artwork.
Reception made silhouettes of the king with the background of the king's style. They also made bunting and crowns covered with sticks, moss, feathers and leaves that demonstrated the King’s passion for the environment.
Year 1 made portraits of the King and also made birds to represent the King's love of nature.
Year 2 made nature themed pieces of artwork for the coronation as King Charles has an intense love of nature, Y2
displayed this beautifully and it had a phenomenal effect.
Year 3 weaved kilts out of paper representing King Charles’ Scottish heritage.
Year 4 made a lunch fit for the King. They made their food out of coloured clay. Their food included:
quality streets, carrots, macarons, raspberries, selection of fruit and vegetables
They also made a lobster which was gigantic!
For the King's coronation this year, Year 5 designed Balmoral castle out of cardboard and stuck it together with tape.
Year 6 did layered portraits for the King’s coronation. This was made up of 2 things; the background and the portrait.
